how does publix ring up their BOGO items? i usually shop at kroger and know they ring them up as half off, but i've moved recently and am near a publix -- i live alone and I don't need two of everything.

It varies from Publix-to-Publix. At my local Publix in Valdosta, GA you can purchase ONE of a BOGO item and receive it for half the normal price.
